Indian Railways is all set to upgrade your travel experience with the launch of the Super App. It will be launched by December 2024 and will serve as a different medium instead of acting as an extension of the current IRCTC application. The same has been designed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). Users will be able to perform various tasks like booking train tickets, tracking trains in real-time, and even purchasing platform passes.
Talking about the current scenario, users need multiple applications for different things and only third party applications provide everything in a single place. The Super App by Indian Railways will focus on making the rail journey experience for the users convenient.
Indian Railways Super App: What it could offer?
First things first, users will be able to book train tickets without getting into the multi-platform usage ruckus which will save their time as well. Whether it is seat availability or travel classes, users will be able to finalize everything from the Super App itself.

That’s not it, the application will also help the users in getting food delivery service so that they can pre-order meals from different partner restaurants. This will ensure that the users are getting fresh food and they can even track the status of the same like any other delivery app.
The Super App by Indian Railways will also let the users get platform passes so that they can easily avoid counter purchases and dodge the long lines. These passes will be verified electronically at the railway stations without any issues. Last but not least, the application will also provide a real-time train tracker which will help the user know where the train is. And one will be able to set notifications and alerts for the same as well.
