Ben Fogle, 51, is best known for presenting several wildlife-themed programmes on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

Some of his most recent programmes on Channel 5 include Ben Fogle and the Buried City, Endurance: Race to the Pole and Into the Congo with Ben Fogle.

He rose to fame after appearing on the BBC reality show Castaway 2000, which saw 36 people marooned on the Scottish island of Taransay for a year.

The social experiment followed the men, women and children to see if they could build a sustainable, self-sufficient community from scratch.

Fogle is the son of actress Julia Foster and Bruce Fogle, a vet. He was privately educated at the Hall School in Hampstead, London and Bryanston School in Dorset.

During his gap year, Fogle went to Ecuador where he worked at an orphanage teaching English before taking a second gap year working on a turtle conservation project on the Mosquito Coast of Honduras and Nicaragua.

He then went to the University of Portugal, where he studied Latin American studies before studying at the University of Costa Rica.

Away from the screen, Fogle lives a quiet life with his wife, Marina and their two children, Ludovic and Iona.

It's believed the family live near the village of Fawley, which is on the boundary between Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The village is just a few miles from Henley-on-Thames, which The Times and The Telegraph previously named one of the best places to live in the English countryside.

The Countryfile star lives in a beautiful countryside home with his family as well as their dogs and horses.

He previously told Metro in 2023 that their home is surrounded by woodland and nature. He said: "We live in an old flint cottage in Oxfordshire. It is in a rural setting surrounded by woodland, fields and nature.

"We have plenty of deer that like to eat our roses, moles that dig up the lawn and even a wild population of wallabies that bounce into our garden and chase the dogs, but we love it."

Fawley is home to Fawley Court, a beautiful Neoclassical country house that was built in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Grade I-listed building was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and landscaped by Capability Brown, and used to have a deer park which extended into Henley Park.

Fawley also has a church, St Mary's Church, which dates back to the 12th century. The church grounds have two mausolea. One dates back to 1752 and the other 1862.

Fogle also has a property in West London, which he rents out. According to MailOnline, the £2.7million five-bedroom was on the market for a massive £26,000 a month.

With Fawley being just down the road from Henley-on-Thames, which is one of the more expensive towns in Oxfordshire, homes in the small village do not come cheap.

House prices in Fawley have an overall average of £2,610,000 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of properties sold in Fawley during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £4,310,000. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £910,000.
