Kerry Katona has suffered her fair share of heartbreaks.

The Atomic Kitten singer, 44, dealt with a lot growing up, from being shipped between foster homes to battling with alcohol and drug addictions. Sadly, her love life has been just as turbulent, with the mother-of-five experiencing three broken marriages and countless volatile break-ups over the years.

Now, she has split from her fiancé Ryan Mahoney, 36, following a rough patch. In recent months, Kerry made it no secret that the pair argued 'like cat and dog', with her OnlyFans work said to be one of the biggest bones of contention. Here, the Mirror takes a look back at Kerry's romance history...

After Kerry's girlband Atomic Kitten toured alongside Westlife, it resulted in fireworks between Kerry and Brian McFadden. And just three months after meeting each other, Brian couldn't wait any longer to pop the question. The engaged couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Molly, back in 2001.

The following year, the showbiz couple had a huge celebrity wedding where they tied the knot. But their happily ever after was not meant to be, as the pair separated in 2004 - sending shockwaves around the world. Their messy divorce in 2006 saw Kerry turn to cocaine and booze, which was the beginning of a gruelling substance battle for the star.

Kerry then set her sights on Dave Cunningham. Dave - who was Kerry's childhood sweetheart - asked for her hand in marriage in 2005. But the couple never got to see their wedding day after a huge argument erupted between them during their holiday in Spain, forcing the pair to part ways.

The argument took place after Kerry found out that Dave was seeing his ex-girlfriend behind her back, forcing her to call it quits on the engagement. A source told People at the time: "Kerry is devastated. After everything she has gone through this year she truly believed Dave could be her saviour. Then the shocking revelations about his ex emerged. But because her private life has been made public before, she made a pact not to discuss the split."

Mark Croft

The singer talked of finding true love with Mark Croft. She actually ended up marrying the taxi driver on Valentine's Day in 2007. Kerry went on to give birth to their two children, daughter Heidi and son Maxwell, but it was not long until the pair's relationship turned sour, leaving Kerry reaching for drugs once more.

She spiralled into a deep depression soon after as she relied on drugs to help her get over her marriage woes with Mark. She told the Mirror: "I wouldn't have a bath for days. I had no friends, no family around. I was on so much medication, so many drugs. I wanted to die. I was that close to killing myself."

George Kay

When Kerry met George Kay, she hoped she would finally be able to settle down, be happy, and enjoy the family life she'd been missing. Everything seemed to have gone according to plan, as the pair welcomed baby girl Dylan-Jorge together before getting engaged and married in 2014.

But the couple briefly split over George's party lifestyle and Kerry booted him out. They got back together and renewed their wedding vows but separated for the final time in 2017. Two years later, George tragically passed away after eating a 'large quantity of cocaine' at a Holiday Inn in Cheshire.

During an appearance on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Kerry broke down in tears while discussing her time with Kay. When asked by Ant Middleton about her emotional reaction to one of the challenges, Kerry said: "My mister died last year of a drug overdose. He was really abusive, and it just took me back to feeling really worthless."

In the scenes filmed in 2020, Kerry said the shouting army officers led to the flashbacks of her time with Kay. Middleton asked the mum if her kids ever saw the abuse. "They heard the shouting and saw the black eyes," she admitted.

Kerry said: "When George died, there was so many mixed emotions... I was so angry. I was so angry at him. 'How f***ing dare you die? Putting me and the kids through all that s***, and then you just die? The worst conversation I've ever had to have was with my five-year-old to tell her her daddy had died...

"How do you explain that to a baby? A t**t as he was, you know, he was still a dad. So now I've got to do right by my kids, because they've been through so much already."

A string of quick romances

Kerry went on to date handyman Adam Waldron, who reportedly couldn't deal with Kerry's "crazy life". The singer saw no choice but to dump him after a few fiery rows. Kerry soon moved on to her brief fling with fellow Celebrity Big Brother star Lucien Laviscount. However, their relationship didn't last long.

Kerry was quick to move on, hooking up with Stuart Nuttal after meeting him on an internet dating site. Yet again, it wasn't to be and Stuart ended their two-month romance via text message, claiming the girl he met down the pub was a "bitter disappointment." Poor Kerry then thought she'd met the one when she was introduced to artist Steve Alce - but after eight months, they decided it wasn't working out, and she was left heartbroken once again.

James English

Soon after her divorce from George, Kerry showed off her then-new flame, James English, on social media. Kerry shared a loved-up selfie of her and the Scottish comedian with fans on Instagram. But a few months after plastering James all over her social media, the sun had set on their relationship. Kerry announced the split on Instagram, by sharing a cryptic post about single life.

Ryan Mahoney

In July 2018, Kerry met personal trainer Ryan on dating app Bumble, and it was fireworks from the get-go. But the pair parted ways three months later after a make-or-break holiday to Thailand. After taking some time away from one another, they reignited their flame the following year.

In 2019, she confessed Ryan was a "Godsend" to her after the death of her ex-husband, George. In 2021, the couple made the big step of moving in together with her children, and Ryan decided to pop the question to Kerry. But now, three years later, Kerry and Ryan have called it quits.

Kerry revealed their Las Vegas wedding was off the cards on Instagram as she shared an update about seeing her poorly mum Sue in hospital. One fan replied to the star: "So much love to you both, and is the Dr single?" To which Kerry cheekily typed back: "No, but I am!"
