Stacey Solomon has landed back in the UK after a family ski trip, and while they made memories to last a lifetime, they resorted to packed lunches and shared accommodation in a bid to keep the 'extortionate' costs down.
The Sort Your Life Out star, 35, hit the slopes in Switzerland with husband Joe Swash, 43, and their five children, Zachary, 16 and Leighton, 12, from Stacey's former relationships, along with Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. The clan were joined by other members of Stacey's family, including her sister Jemma Solomon and their rarely-seen brother, who took part in the family half-term getaway on the slopes.
Making sure to capture every moment, the doting mum of five shared a series of snaps throughout their time on the snowy slopes, including a heartfelt post shortly after returning to Pickle Cottage in the UK. Reflecting on their week, alongside various family snaps, Stacey wrote: "The family who ski together - probably won’t talk to each other for a few weeks now. I’m joking (but not) it’s been the most special, tiring, adrenaline pumping, crazy week. I can honestly say everyone is exhausted but the BEST memories have been made.

The first photo showed Stacey and Joe beaming alongside their five children, who were all wrapped up in their winter gear, ski boots and salopettes in front of the breathtaking backdrop of the Swiss mountains. Another snap showed their youngest children, Rose and Bella, sweetly posing in front of their parents, with Joe boasting a colourful, vibrant ski suit while Stacey wore her monochrome printed outfit.

Instagram/Stacey Solomon)Further heartwarming moments captured from the family getaway saw Stacey's sister Jemma and their brother beaming for a group shot, although Stacey shared with her 6M followers that her brother was 'camera shy', so opts to keep his face away from the spotlight. The kids were seen playing in the stretches of white fluffy snow, with further snaps taken outside their rustic wooden lodge, where Stacey revealed they all stayed.
In a post on her Instagram Story, she tagged the location, Villars-sur-Ollon, and wrote: "Is where we stayed. It's close to my brother & the mountain is PERFECT for kids as the nursery slope is big, the ski school is excellent & the runs aren't too intimidating."

Instagram/Stacey Solomon)The TV star explained that the reason behind staying in the lodge altogether was one of their ways to keep the costs down, as she branded Switzerland prices 'extortionate'. In her ever-honest way, Stacey shared in another post: " We hired a lodge & all stayed together. Skiing is so expensive we had to try & find the cheapest option for everyone."
She continued: "We made sandwiches every day for lunch because food on the mountain is extortionate. And we all took it in turns to cook dinner." Stacey ended the post with: "Switzerland in general I think is super expensive so we just made all of our food apart from two meals so we had out & stayed in the lodge together which was so much fun, I actually prefer it to a hotel."
While the family flew back to the UK, Stacey explained that they didn't fly there as the prices were, again, "extortionate" and "through the roof." Instead, they got the train there and flew back, with Stacey revealing it was "less than a quarter of the price."
