Apple plans to launch the iPhone 17 series in 2025 with the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the much-awaited iPhone 17 Slim—the first slim smartphone in the Apple series. The company reportedly plans to introduce the iPhone 17 Slim variant in 2025 with features like a sleek design, meaning a super thin design for the first time.
As per reports, Apple could also discontinue its Plus device in the iPhone 17 lineup. The iPhone 17 Slim could also be named ‘iPhone Air’ to boost sales.
What to Expect from iPhone 17 Slim:
The iPhone 17 Slim could launch in September 2025. Rumors suggest the iPhone 17 Slim could have the A19 chip paired with 8GB of RAM. It can also have a new type of OLED display. Moreover, the company could launch the iPhone 17 slim, costlier than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple plans to unveil its upcoming addition with a thinner design and aluminum chassis rather than titanium casing. It could also feature Dynamic Island, an interactive feature on iPhone that displays alerts and ongoing activity.

Further reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Slim will have a 6.6-inch screen. However, the iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch display. So, we can’t predict exactly which display size could be used in the upcoming smartphone. However, considering the history, Apple could test different designs for the first thinner smartphone, and the display size could always change.
We could also see Pro Motion technology from Apple in the iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Air. iPhone 17 Slim is expected to have a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and video content.
Regarding camera features, Apple is tipped to change or move the rear camera module in iPhone 17 slim.

Reports suggest the iPhone 17 Slim could be costlier than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. One of the reasons for the high cost could be the slim form factor and the new display tech. Currently, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,44,900 for the 256GB variant, and 512GB is priced at Rs 1,64,900. However, the 1TB storage variant costs Rs Rs 1,84,900. If the company unveils the iPhone 17 Slim and discontinues the Plus models, then the iPhone 16 Plus could be the last Plus model from Apple.
