Is Ariana Grande Manifesting an Audrey Hepburn Biopic?

Is Ariana Grande manifesting another role?

While attending the National Board of Review’s 2025 gala in January, the Wicked actress was asked whether she was “channeling” Old Hollywood icon, Audrey Hepburn, after wearing several Old Hollywood-inspired looks over the last few weeks.

“I’ve always loved old-Hollywood glamour — like, Marilyn [Monroe] and Audrey have always been my references,” she told Entertainment Tonight of her style. “I’ve always gravitated toward ’50s, ’60s silhouettes, and retro vintage … I can’t even think of a time when that wasn’t my vision board. But it’s been more fun to have more places to really do that. My stylist, Mimi [Cuttrell], and I have been leaning all the way in.”

As for whether she’d be down to do a biopic of the Breakfast at Tiffany’s actress?

“That would have to be done so well and so perfectly … I don’t know,” she added.

Ariana was asked a similar question in a separate interview with Access Hollywood that same night, leading her to ask: “Oh my goodness, why is everyone asking me this? You’re insane!” she joked. “You’re insane, you’re insane, you’re insane. You’re insane. I love you.”

Sharing photos of Ariana from the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards, one viral tweet reads: “her subtly campaigning for that audrey hepburn role….i see you ariana.”

It’s well-known that Ariana has a talent for manifesting roles, as she seemingly spoke her starring role in Wicked into existence. Throughout the years, the Nickelodeon alum has said playing Glinda would be her dream role on multiple occasions, and eventually nabbed the role for the movie musical directed by Jon M. Chu in 2024.

While there have been whispers of an Audrey biopic over the years, the project is still very much up in the air. In fact, actress Rooney Mara was previously lined up to play Audrey in a Luca Guadagnino project about the icon, but in February 2024, Rooney revealed that Luca is no longer attached to the production.

“The project is not completely dead,” she told Deadline at the time. “Luca is no longer going to be directing it, but the project is still very much alive … I can’t say more than that right now.”
