Coronation Street has been hit by a wave of departures recently, with several fan-favourite characters set to say goodbye to the ITV soap.
Sue Cleaver, Colsdon Smith, Charlotte Jordan and Paddy Bever have all announced their exits from the famous cobbles. This has sparked rumours about who might be next to leave, with bookies pinpointing one Coronation Street resident as the most likely to go.
After a storyline that saw her character poison Corrie veteran Ken Barlow (played by Bill Roache), it seems that Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) may soon be bidding farewell to Weatherfield.
James Leyfield, an entertainment expert at Gambling.com, has been closely monitoring Coronation Street and has created markets for which character will be the next to leave and who could return in 2025.
Despite only joining the cast as Cassie around two years ago, actress Claire is currently the 8/13 favourite to be the next character to exit the ITV soap. Her character has caused quite a commotion during her time on the show, especially with son Tyrone and mother Evelyn. However, other soap stars are predicted to leave before Claire.
Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, is expected to take maternity leave later this year, but she is 4/5 to make a permanent departure from the soap, according to Plymouth Live.
Sally Ann Matthews, known for her role as Jenny Connor, is 6/4 to be the next to exit, while Sair Khan, who portrays Alya Nazir, is 2/1 to depart, despite having only returned to Corrie in November from maternity leave. Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor, is at 6/1 odds to leave the show, while Maureen Lipman, who plays Evelyn Plummer, is predicted to make a permanent exit at 5/1, following her upcoming temporary departure.
