The Traitors series two runner up Mollie Pearce has revealed she had to put her Dancing on Ice training on hold for a month before she even met her pro partner Colin Grafton.

The 22-year-old disability model is one of 11 celebrities hoping to win the figure skating reality show this year, but she admitted that she was already starting at a major disadvantage when her training was delayed.

Speaking to The Sun, she revealed: "Before I met Colin, I actually fractured my wrist. So we were off the ice for four weeks. We had some tough days with that.

"‘I think we were really excited to get back on, and you know, it felt like a big setback." Although they couldn't take to the ice until Mollie was healed, Colin found a way they could get in some practice.

He told the outlet:"We used it to our advantage and practised in a dance studio. We got to know each other better. It was difficult being off the ice and not training, but we’re back better than ever."

Mollie shared her main goal for the show, explaining that she hopes her involvement on the show will "show people you can do anything" and give those with disabilities "hope".

In addition to her limb difference on her right hand, the reality TV star wears a stoma bag after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of 11.

According to the NHS, the autoimmune condition causes inflammation in the large intestine, which led to her having her colon removed.

During her appearance on The Traitors last year, she opened up about undergoing the life-changing surgery that left her with a stoma at the age of 18.

"I’ve spent most of my life, since I was 11, quite unwell. I wanted to advocate for people with a limb difference and a stoma," she said.

"If I look at myself three years ago, I couldn’t even leave the house at points, so to now be here running around with you guys is kind of crazy." She later added: "I really struggled to get my head around the fact that I was going to have a stoma.

"I wasn’t prepared for it at 18 years old, you kind of just want to be out enjoying yourself with your friends, not having this life-changing surgery.

"Since my surgery, I’ve got my life back, I realised I could wear what I wanted, I could go out, I could enjoy myself. It completely changed my life."

Dancing on Ice launchs on Sunday from 6.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
