Good Morning Britain was thrown into disarray during Monday morning's show as Boris Johnson abruptly ended his live interview.
The former Prime Minister, 60, was conversing with presenters Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley from Kyiv on the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Susanna expressed her surprise at seeing Boris in the midst of conflict zone during a pivotal moment for world leaders discussing Ukraine's tense situation with Russia, asking: "This is a bit of surprise that you've turned up in Kyiv. It's a big day, of course, because world leaders are having this call about what to do about Ukraine. What do you think should happen?"
Johnson dismissed claims that blame Ukraine for the war following Trump's accusations that Zelenskyy had 'talked the US into spending $350 on aid' for Ukraine as "rubbish" as reported by the Mirror.
He then revealed his belief that a deal between the US and Ukraine was nearing completion, "That commits the US not only to future financing of Ukraine but also to a free, sovereign and secure Ukraine under Donald Trump," he commented, underscoring the significance of the agreement, "That is not to be sneezed at, it's a very important commitment," before suddenly cutting the interview short.
"Anyways, I've got to love you and leave you," Boris mumbled as he fiddled with his earpiece. Despite Boris's apparent rush, Richard wasn't ready to end the conversation and asked: "As a former prime minister, how do you deal with an American president who says that black is white. How do you talk to him? " In response, Boris, pressed for time, answered: "You have to keep knocking the ball back over the net".
After this brief exchange, Boris proceeded to remove his equipment and exit the frame, prompting Susanna to express her gratitude: "Thank you very much indeed for your time this morning. Just disentangling himself from our microphone and off he goes."
During today's episode of Good Morning Britain, Susanna and Richard interrupted the programme with breaking news from Boris Johnson, as Susanna declared: "Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson tells this programme there is a deal to be done over Ukraine, and now is the time for the UK to step up in negotiations with the US to end."
Richard then continued the report, stating: "He was speaking here live just a few minutes ago, predicting that there will be a deal in the next couple of days between America and Ukraine over mineral rights, which effectively, he says, will put America back with skin in the game. Big Game changer.
"Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, of course, has said that he'll step down from his job if it guarantees peace, so a lot happening today."
