ITV I'm A Celebrity camp tension hits all-time high as 'shots fired'

Tensions flared on Wednesday's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as a new rift emerged among the campmates.

The latest show (November 27) saw the camp dealing with an unwelcome guest as a rat was lured in to camp by leftover bits of their mud crab dinner.

Reverend Richard Coles briefed his fellow contestants at breakfast, saying: "We had a visitor last night, a little four legged visitor with a tail, a rat." He pointed out that some items, including a frying pan and cups, were left out overnight, and he stressed the importance of tidying up to avoid attracting rodents.

Dean McCullough didn't hesitate to voice his thoughts in the Bush Telegraph, remarking: "It's actually Jane and Tulisa's job to make sure that the pots are in the trunk, so when the reverend was telling everyone to put the pots away otherwise we'll get rats, what he really meant was, Jane and Tulisa, put the pots away," reports the Express.

The atmosphere intensified when Melvin Odoom commented on the gruelling task of water collection, describing it as "relentless". As the camp struggled with the chore of fetching, carrying, and boiling water, Melvin expressed frustration with Dean, likening asking him for help to "telling a kid to tidy up his bedroom."

Disaster struck camp when Melvin carried out his water duties and Dean was conspicuously absent. Melvin vented to his campmates in frustration, "This is a lone man situation, he's very good at disappearing!".

While hauling a hefty pot of water back to camp, he couldn't hide his dismay: "That is no joke, the pot is so heavy."

He confessed, "I hate doing the water guys I've said it, I'm just gonna have to hold my hands up, it's an awful job and I hate it, and I don't wanna do it anymore. Guys I can't, it's not for me!".

Camp leader Danny Jones was not impressed by this rebellion and briskly told Dean, "Just get on with it mate!"

Even as Melvin tried to persuade Dean to persist in the water fetching and others advised a positive outlook, Dean blurted out, "Look, no beef, no drama, I just hate my job!".

Quick-witted Melvin quipped, "Listen, your new name is Houdini because you like to disappear!", sparking laughter among the campers. Oti Mabuse chimed in with "Shots fired! " amidst the laughter, leaving Dean lost for words.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here airs daily at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
