Ivanka Trump stepped out in not one but two Oscar de la Renta looks on the eve of her father's inauguration. The former first daughter was the picture of sophistication during the day on Sunday wearing a camel orchid appliqué cashmere coat over a matching jewel-button detailed dress from the fashion house to the wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
The mom of three styled her hair down and accessorized her outfit with brown boots and matching gloves. Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner and their three kids, Arabella, Joseph and Theodore attended the ceremony on Jan. 19, along with other members of the Trump family.
"Honoring the brave at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, on the eve of the inauguration of my father @realDonaldTrump as the 47th President," Ivanka captioned photos from the ceremony on Instagram. "Their sacrifice serves as a reminder of the values they fought to protect, inspiring and guiding the decisions and actions that shape the future of our nation."
In the evening, President-elect Donald Trump's 43-year-old daughter wore another design by Oscar de la Renta to the candlelight dinner. The Women Who Work author exuded glamour in the custom hand-beaded gown at the event held at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
Ivanka turned to the fashion house for inaugural events back in 2017. The former first daughter wore an Oscar de la Renta gown to the 2017 candlelight dinner, and an ivory pantsuit by the designer for her father's first inauguration. However, for the inaugural balls that night, Ivanka sparkled in a gown by Carolina Herrera.
The former first daughter served as an advisor to her father during his first term. After her dad announced that he would be running for president again, Ivanka told Fox News Digital, "I do not plan to be involved in politics."
Ivanka admitted on a recent episode of the Skinny Confidential’s Him & Her Show that she hates politics. "The main reason I am not going back to serve now is I know the cost and it’s a price that I’m not willing to make my kids bear,” she shared.
Ivanka noted that "there's another element" for her. "I love policy and impact. I hate politics. And unfortunately, the two are not separable,” she said. “There is a darkness to that world that I don’t really want to welcome into mine. To some degree, I’m, you know, at the center of the storm because my father is about to be president, but it’s a very dark, negative business. And some people love like the gladiator aspect of it, you know, the fight. That was never me.”
Ahead of her dad's second inauguration, Ivanka took a walk down memory lane sharing photos from her father's first inauguration and first term as president. Alongside the post, she penned: "As the Inauguration approaches, I find myself filled with gratitude as I reflect on special moments with my father and family from eight years ago, when we first stepped off Air Force One upon arriving in Washington, D.C."
"Witnessing my father become the 45th President of the United States, lighting Shabbat candles with Jared in the Lincoln Bedroom on Inauguration Day, helping Theodore crawl for the first time in the White House State Dining Room, watching Joseph play with his little brother aboard Air Force One, and seeing Arabella sneak through the secret door of the Resolute Desk are memories I will cherish forever," Ivanka continued. "I look forward to watching my father take the oath of office again as the 47th President of the United States. I am proud of his unwavering strength and resilience and am excited to celebrate this historic milestone alongside him once more."
