Ivanka Trump made it clear that she was not going to be a part of Donald Trump‘s politics this time around, and she meant it.
The 42-year-old Miami socialite decided not to get in the middle of her dad’s feud with Taylor Swift. Instead, she chose to take her 13-year-old daughter Arabella to one of the 34-year-old pop star’s concerts in Florida over the weekend, according to People. Arabella has been a Swiftie for quite some time, even enjoying a Swift-themed cake for her birthday in July.

The treat was in the shape of a heart with a lyric from the musician’s 2014 single, “Blank Space.” The icing read, “Boys only want love if it’s torture.” Mom loved it too. Ivanka wrote on the image from her Instagram page, “best cake for my favorite swiftie” after the family had dug a few slices out of it. Arabella’s grandfather, however, has different feelings about the billionaire.
Donald Trump caused confusion in mid-August when he posted snapshots that implied Swift endorsed him for president. He shared three images of young women wearing T-shirts with the slogan, “Swifites for Trump.” The former president also added an AI-generated photo of Swift dressed as Uncle Sam with the message, “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.” He happily captained the Truth Social post, “I accept!
Of course, every candidate wanted Swift’s endorsement, but that honor went to Vice President Kamala Harris on Sept. 10 after the presidential debate. “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” she said in a strong message to her Instagram followers. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
On Sunday, Sept. 15, Donald Trump revealed his reaction to the pop star’s endorsement. He wrote in all capital letters on Truth Social, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” He also went on Fox & Friends the next day to complain about the “Shake It Off” singer. “I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” he said. “It was just a question of time. … But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

Well, there are still plenty of Swifties left in the Trump family, and that includes Ivanka and Arabella. The former president’s oldest daughter wasn’t going to deny her teen the pleasure of attending one of the hottest concerts of the year. Instead, she picked a side and Swift won.
