Young Thug showed concern for Jaden Smith’s lack of groupies when they toured together a few years ago.
Jaden recently sat down for an interview with Complex’s Eric Skelton, who asked the artist about the song "D.U.M.B.” from his new project, 2024: A Case Study Of The Long Term Effects Of Young Love. Jaden says, "Thugger said he's proud of me, free slimey."
“I went on tour with Thug. He's the coolest person ever,” Smith told Skelton.
“He used to always come into my dressing room and be like, ‘Bro, there's no girls in here.’ And I'd be like, ‘Oh, you know, I'm just... Uh…’ And he'd be like, ‘Bro, I haven't seen you with any girls! I'm really worried.’ And I would go and hang out with people just so that he would see me, so he wouldn't worry. That was the best tour experience ever.
“Free Thug, bro. Yeah. Straight up. He's the best.”
The tour Smith appears to be talking about is J. Cole’s KOD Tour from 2018, which featured direct support from Thugger, Smith, EarthGang, and Kill Edward. That same year, Jaden hopped on Thug’s song, “Sin” from his EP On the Rvn.
After Jaden’s extremely weird interview with Complex went live, the 26-year-old seemingly issued a tweet in response.
“All The Weird Shit You’ve Ever Seen Me Do Was Me Thinking I Was Totally Normal, So Now Sometimes I Try To Act Weird On Purpose So Yall Think It’s On Purpose, But At The End Of The Day I’ve Been Trying To Fit In This Whole Time And I Guess It’s Not Exactly Going To Plan.”
