James Kennedy domestic violence arrest: Everything we know so far

James Kennedy has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanour domestic violence. He was arguing with a woman during the late hours of the night on Tuesday and has since been released on bail.

Vanderpump Rules had its most wildest year when Scandoval came out. The drama still hasn’t finished off-camera though, as James Kennedy has now been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

Kennedy has been accused of domestic violence

James Kennedy has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanour domestic violence. Police in Burbank, California, near Los Angeles, were sent to a home after a report of a man and woman arguing at 11.30pm.

The Vanderpump Rules star was arguing with a woman who was not identified before Kennedy was arrested, jailed and then released several hours later, after posting $20K bail.

His girlfriend, Ally Lewber, who lives with him, has previously denied speculation Kennedy was abusive towards her. A day after the arrest, she hosted Windsor’s holiday party at the Short Stories Hotel.

He was arrested the same night of a party

Kennedy was arrested on the same night he attended a party with Ally. They had gone to Kathy Hilton‘s DIRECTV holiday party that same night, but didn’t pose for a picture on the red carpet together.

They were photographed together inside the event though, chatting with fellow Bravo star Mercedes “MJ” Javid, as well as The Bachelor‘s Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy.

Kennedy, who has just been re-hired for the new Vanderpump Rules cast, was pictured kissing his smiling girlfriend on the cheek while celebrating the run-up to Christmas.

Rachel speaks out on his arrest

James and Rachel were together for five years, but called off their engagement in 2021. Following their split, James confessed to sleeping with Lala Kent at the beginning of his relationship with Rachel.

Her lawyers have now said the news of James’ arrest is “not surprising” and said: “Rachel’s lawsuit describes, in detail, Mr Kennedy’s long history of erratic, violent behaviour and substance abuse.”

When they split, Rachel wrote, “We decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement. We love each other very much but we aren’t in love anymore.”

However, it was during Thanksgiving that she admitted she realised she didn’t want to be in the relationship anymore, as James had always felt her parents never embraced him.
