James Woods has revealed his home survived the Los Angeles wildfires

US actor, James Woods, has revealed his home survived the Los Angeles wildfires that continue to ravage the star-studded Californian neighbourhood.

The Ghosts Of Mississippi star, 77, said he went to visit what he believed was the remnants of his property in the Pacific Palisades, to find it was still standing. Mass evacuations have seen thousands of people forced to leave their homes behind in recent days, and over a 1000 buildings and structures have been totally destroyed – with a number of people reported to have tragically lost their lives already, in fires Paris Hilton said looked like "hell" on earth.

Telling his followers he'd been blessed by a "miracle", James took to X revealing that, thankfully, his home was "still standing". He said: "We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing. In this hellish landscape ‘standing’ is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us."

Woods said he was "so happy and grateful" to return to his home, but likened the area surrounding the property as the "the dark side of the moon". He shared: "It’s so fundamentally gut-wrenching and upsetting, it’s almost hard to celebrate the joyous news that our home survived. While we rejoice to find our house intact, in the midst of a hellscape like this, you can only think of your neighbours. I was so certain our house was gone a day ago, but the fickle finger of fate decided otherwise."

The Oppenheimer star also revealed he had helped to rescue his 94-year-old neighbour after the man’s replacement caregiver had allegedly left him behind amid evacuation orders. It comes days after the Golden Globe and two-time Emmy winning actor confirmed he had evacuated his home as he shared security camera footage of flames engulfing a nearby home and the bottom of his balcony.

"We were blessed to have LA fire and police depts doing their jobs so well. We are safe and out…Can not speak more highly of the LA fire and LAPD," he wrote on X. "It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say." James is one of the lucky celebrities whose home is still standing after the wildfires. A whole host of other stars have lost their properties as the ferocious flames continues to burn.

Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins and Jhene Aiko all took to social media, admitting their worst fears had been confirmed as they revealed that their homes had been reduced to ash.

Triggered star, Jhene Aiko, who has two kids, told her followers on social media her "children had lost their home", sharing: "Me and my children's home is gone [heartbreak emoji] burned to the ground with all of our things inside.

"Lord have mercy [prayer hands emoji] Thankful we still have each other [blue heart emoji] starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy [heartbreak emoji]."

Jhene has a 16-year-old daughter called Namiko Love Browner with ex O'Ryan and a two-year-old son Noah Hasani with current beau, Big Sean.
