Eyewitnesses who attended a live taping of Jamie Foxx’s upcoming Netflix special, What Had Happened Was, alleged that the Baby Driver star made some startling claims about Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Three separate people claimed that Jamie, 56, made comments indicating that Diddy, 54, was responsible for his hospitalization in 2023, according to Page Six. Along with the eyewitnesses, director Choke No Joke also made similar allegations during an interview with Comedy Hype.
“Jamie has a special coming out on Netflix called What Had Really Happened Was, and I went to the taping of it,” Choke said in a video uploaded by Comedy Hype on October 7. “It was three days taping. I went to the first show and I went to the last show. Jamie Foxx states in the special that Diddy was responsible for what happened to him, and he is the one that called the FBI on him.”
When the interviewer replied, “That’s gotta be a joke, right?” Choke said he did not “think” The Kingdom actor was joking.
“Y’all can determine [whether he] was joking or not when you see the show because to me, I’m a new comedian, right?” Choke continued. “I’ve learned, and I know when somebody’s setting up a punchline, and I know when you’re serious. After he said, ‘Yeah, Diddy is the one that did something to me,’ he said, ‘And I’m the one who called the feds on him.’”
“Are we saying that Jamie responded and alerted whatever activity Puff had going on to shut him down as his get back?” Comedy Hype asked.
While Choke said that he didn’t believe Jamie allegedly called the feds as “his get back,” he did think it was for Jamie’s “protection.”
“Jamie was scared, right?” Choke added. “He disappeared, right? He out [in public] now, as soon as Puff went to jail.”
Diddy was arrested on September 16 and charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, according to the unsealed indictment obtained by In Touch. A Grand Jury alleged that the Bad Boy Records founder had abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to “fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct.” The indictment also accused Diddy of a consistent and widespread pattern of mistreatment toward women, including verbal, physical and sexual abuse.
“To do so, [Diddy] relied on the employees, resources and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled — creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice,” the indictment read.
The “It’s All About the Benjamins” artist was denied bail after the judge declared him a flight risk, and he will remain in jail until his trial.
Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo gave a statement proclaiming the music mogul’s innocence shortly after his arraignment hearing on September 17.
“Mr. Combs is a fighter,” Agnifilo said. “He came to New York to establish his innocence. … He’s not afraid of the charges. There’s nothing that the government said in their presentation today that chances anyone’s mind about anything. He’s been looking forward to this day; he’s been looking forward to clearing his name, and he’s going to clear his name. We’re going to stand by his side as he does.”
Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
