Jamie Foxx is breaking his silence about his mysterious health scare in his upcoming Netflix special, What Had Happened Was.
The famous actor has promised to address the saga, including the swirling conspiracy theories implicating Sean "Diddy" Combs, as rumors of a rift between the two continue to circulate.
Foxx recently took to Instagram to share his excitement about the project and gratitude for his recovery.
"Cannot say it enough that I am blessed to be able to tell my story in my own way. So many people to thank, so many people have prayed," he noted.
The Texas native, who returned to the standup stage in Atlanta for the first time in 18 years, reflected on the emotional experience of filming the special
"It was like going to church... we laughed... we had a few tears... but last, but not least, we celebrated life... and second chances," he said.
Conspiracy theories and Diddy rumors
Foxx's health crisis, which saw him out of the public eye for months, has been shrouded in speculation. In his special, Foxx reportedly addresses rumors that Diddy was involved in his illness. According to audience members at the Atlanta tapings, Foxx spent a notable portion of his performance discussing the rapper.
Videographer Choke No Joke, who attended two of the three tapings, claimed Foxx said, "Diddy was responsible for what happened to him, and [Foxx] is the one who called the FBI on [Combs]."
Choke suggested Foxx's comments might stem from fear, saying, "Y'all can determine if he was joking or not when you see the show."
However, others, like attendee Dennis L.A. White, recall Foxx taking a more lighthearted approach, stating during the show, "People keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He was not responsible. If he was, I would've been dead."
Reports indicate that Foxx and Diddy, once close friends, have distanced themselves in recent years. Foxx's special reportedly delves into their dynamic, with comedic jabs and references to alleged incidents between them.
