Jay Leno, the beloved comedian and former host of The Tonight Show, continues to demonstrate his resilience and sense of humor even after facing another serious physical accident.
This past weekend, Leno took a nasty fall while staying at a hotel on a hilltop. According to Leno himself, he decided to take a shortcut to get to the hotel restaurant, but when he tried to descend the hill, he slipped and fell.
"I said, 'Well, the hill doesn't look that steep. It's about 60-70 feet. Let me see if I can go down the hill,'" he told TMZ.
A mistake that cost Jay Leno dearly
Unfortunately, Leno misjudged the situation and ended up falling violently. "I fell down. Boom, boom, boom. I rolled down the hill, hit my head on a rock, knocked me in the eye," the comedian added.
As a result of the fall, Leno sustained several bruises on his face, a broken wrist, and even lost a fingernail.
However, despite his injuries, Leno didn't let it get him down. Instead of taking a break, he performed his show at the Palace Theater in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, just three hours later.
"It wasn't a big deal, it's fine," Leno said, downplaying the situation.
Despite the hard fall, Leno remains in a positive attitude
Despite the severity of the incident, Leno carried on with his work schedule. The following day, he returned to Los Angeles for medical attention but made it clear that his positive attitude remained intact.
"It was only a couple of hours before the show," he explained. "It's not that big of a deal, it's fine."
This is not the first major accident Leno has faced in recent years. In 2022, the comedian suffered third-degree burns on his face, chest, and hands during an incident while working on one of his cars.
Despite the injuries, Leno showed his characteristic sense of humor and praised the Grossman Burn Center for their work in his recovery. "You'd think there'd be a zipper here," Leno joked during an appearance on Kelly Clarkson's show.
Additionally, in January 2023, Leno suffered a motorcycle accident that left him with multiple broken bones, but as always, he pushed through and continued with his tour.
Despite these health challenges, Leno has maintained a positive attitude and continues to be a model of resilience for his fans.
