THE LAWYER for Jay-Z’s “rape” accuser has blasted the rapper’s claims that the allegations against him are nothing but “blackmail”.
Tony Buzbee, representing the woman who alleges she was raped by Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs” at 13, said the star’s claims are “bogus and laughable”, and vowed to push on with the case.
The lawyer even made a Shakespeare reference scoffing at Jay-Z’s claim he is a victim of blackmail.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, was named in a bombshell lawsuit that alleges he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl alongside former pal Diddy.
The civil lawsuit filed on Sunday accuses the rapper taking turns with Diddy to rape the unidentified teen at an MTV VMA afterparty in 2000.
Carter, 55, branded the case a “blackmail attempt” in a statement on X via his artist management company Roc Nation on Monday.

He has publicly denied all of the allegations against him.
Carter questioned why a criminal case was not being brought if the “heinous” allegations against him were true, and claimed that Tony has a “pattern of these type of theatrics”.
Now Tony has taken up the public spat rubbishing Carter’s blackmail claims.
The high-profile lawyer said his communication with Carter was a “standard demand letter” that had been “approved” by the accusing woman.
He said the lawsuit couldn’t be blackmail because “no one has made any threats”.
Tony roped in Shakespeare to make his point, quipping: “The lady doth protest too much, methink.”
Jay-Z and Beyoncé put on united front as they attend premiere with daughter Blue Ivy after rapper is accused of raping 13yo girl in shock Diddy lawsuit
The famous line from Hamlet implies that someone is guilty if they deny an accusation too strongly.
Tony ends his statement on a punchy note: “Let me be clear: We will not be bullied or intimated by these shenanigans.
“And our clients won’t be silenced.”
The woman at the centre of this raging feud, named only as Jane Doe in court documents, said she was raped at a party in 2000 by Carter and Diddy.
She alleges that a driver at the VMAs who claimed to work for Diddy gave her a lift to the house where she had a drink that made her "woozy" before the alleged assault.
The suit claims that Jay-Z held her down and raped her while Diddy and an unnamed female celebrity watched on.
It forms part of a federal lawsuit filed against Sean 'Diddy' Combs, 55, in New York in October - refiled on Sunday to include Jay-Z.
Carter has strongly denied the “idiotic” accusations.
The day after the allegations were revealed, Carter and his family put on a united front in Los Angeles as they celebrated the premiere of Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King”.
Carter arrived side-by-side with wife Beyoncé as well as mother-in-law Tina Knowles and his daughter Blue Ivy.
The father was dressed in a maroon suit and sported a black tie as Beyoncé, beaming beside her accused husband, showed up in a fancy black bodysuit with golden spots.
The shocking claims against Carter throw doubt on Beyonce’s planned Christmas Day comeback and huge 2025 tour.
She is due to perform at NFL’s festive clash between her hometown Houston, Texas and the Baltimore Ravens.
A source said: "Bey and Jay are one of the most dominant power couples on the globe so even though the claim has nothing to do with her, her name had already been dragged into online speculation.
Beyonce’s mum, mother-in-law to Carter, has claimed that her account was hacked after she was seen liking a post about the rapper's shock rape allegation.
Amazed social media users quickly came to the implication that this could mean Tina Knowles supported the accusation facing her son-in-law.
In an Instagram post Monday, Knowles denied she liked the ABC News post, claiming her family connection was being used as a "weapon".
"As you all know, I do not play about my family," Knowles wrote. "So if you see something uncharacteristic of me. Just know that it is not me!"
She added: "Please stop playing with me!!!! 'No weapon formed against my family shall prosper.'"
Jay-Z's full statement following rape allegations
"My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a 'lawyer'... What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.
No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!
These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?
These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.
This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these type of theatrics!
I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. [X], but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over. I’m more than prepared to deal with your type. You claim to be a marine?! Marines are known for their valor, you have neither honor nor dignity.
My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.
I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age.
It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.
My heart and support goes out to true victims in the world, who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit.
You have made a terrible error in judgement thinking that all “celebrities” are the same. I’m not from your world.
I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor.
"We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable.
I look forward to showing you just how different I am."
