JAY-Z is fighting for a judge to dismiss the rape case against him — or release the alleged victim’s identity! Jeez!

As Perezcious readers know, an anonymous woman who went as Jane Doe filed a lawsuit against Diddy in October, claiming he raped her when she was just 13 at an MTV VMAs afterparty in New York in 2000. On Sunday, she amended the filing, accusing JAY-Z of also raping her alongside Sean Combs that evening. He’s already denied the allegations, but now he’s fighting back in court, too.

On Monday, Page Six obtained legal documents from Beyoncé‘s husband, born Shawn Carter, in which he slammed lawyer Tony Buzbee for creating an “extortionate campaign” against him over the past few months. He claimed:

“That campaign was cynical and calculated to force payment of an exorbitant sum of money — Defendant would have to pay X millions of dollars irrespective of the truth, or else.”

He furthered:

“When Defendant refused to pay and instead took measures to establish his innocence, this unnamed Plaintiff and her self-promoting counsel (whose name has been splashed across headlines and press conferences under auspices of representing her) went to extraordinary lengths to shut down fair defense.”

He also argued the lawyer had “leveled baseless allegations” against him while “hiding behind the pseudonym ‘Jane Doe.’” That said, he also hid in secrecy for a moment! If you don’t know, last month, JAY-Z filed an anonymous lawsuit against Tony, referring to himself only as a high-profile friend of Puff’s, accusing the Texas-based attorney of extortion and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Now that his name is out in the open, though, the 55-year-old doesn’t want his opponent to get to stay anonymous either.

Arguing this case is made up for money, the filing alleged:

“These claims are not about justice for victims. Nor are they about giving victims of sexual violence a voice. […] Instead, they are merely the next chapter in Attorney Buzbee’s sprawling extortion saga — a saga whose aim is base and measured in dollars.”

The father of three is now asking a judge to deny the plaintiff’s motion OR for Jane Doe’s identity to be “disclosed immediately” to the public. OMG! He wants to out the alleged victim?? Damn.

In docs obtained by TMZ, JAY-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro said of this shocking request:

“Fair is fair. It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear [Jay-Z]’s good name.”

The docs added:

“Make no mistake this case is about retaliating against the rare target who would not pay.”

Per Page Six, the A-lister’s also asking the court to dismiss the civil lawsuit against him “for lack of subject matter jurisdiction due to the plaintiff’s lack of standing,” explaining:

“Plaintiff has provided no evidence — no affidavit, declaration, or specific factual support — to establish the kind of severe harm necessary to justify pseudonymity.”

TMZ added that the court papers pointed out that the Roc Nation founder has an “impeccable reputation” and has never been accused of or engaged in any sexual misconduct before.

According to a press release, the rapper claimed that on Friday, “Buzbee resorted to desperation tactics and filed a temporary restraining order against Carter’s attorneys, which was ultimately denied by the judge.” Tony hit back at this, telling Page Six:

“Sending a basic litigation demand letter and then filing a lawsuit isn’t extortion or blackmail. That’s the legal practice.”

He also insisted that his team “won’t get bogged down in a silly sideshow that tries to make the lawyers the focus of what are very serious allegations brought by a courageous woman.”

Oof. This legal drama is just getting started… Thoughts so far, Perezcious readers? Sound OFF in the comments (below).
