Jennie Garth talked about her family evacuating their home amid the California wildfires and got quite emotional. The former Hallmark and “Dancing with the Stars” season 5 star expressed her gratitude that a somewhat surprising person opened his doors to Garth, her husband, her kids, and her pets when they needed shelter.

Jennie Garth’s Family Stayed With Her Ex-Husband During the Evacuation

On January 9, Garth shared a video on her Instagram page explaining what her family had navigated during the wildfires. She included a lengthy caption as well.

The “Accidentally in Love” Hallmark star was teary-eyed as she began recording and took a deep breath before starting to speak. “This is just devastating for everyone,” she began.

“My family and I are safe. Our home made it through the night and we are feeling so blessed and so fortunate and so lucky,” Garth shared.

She said she thought they were going to go back to their home, admitting it was “A mess, but it’s fine.”

Garth added she was “So grateful for Peter for letting us stay at his house. Me and all the girls and dogs and Dave.”

Peter is Garth’s ex-husband Peter Facinelli, with whom she has three daughters. The couple was married from 2001 to 2012 and their daughters Luca, Lola, and Fiona, are ages 27, 22, and 18, according to People.

Dave is her current husband, Dave Abrams. As People noted, Abrams and Garth wed in July 2015 after meeting on a blind date in 2014.

Garth & Facinelli’s Relationship Is Friendly Now

In July, Garth opened up on her podcast “I Choose…” about her current dynamic with Facinelli. “Guys, we are officially friends now,” she quipped. She noted he “even unblocked me from Instagram.”

Garth continued, “I’ve been blocked on his socials for so long that I stopped caring years ago. But I’m unblocked now, you guys. That’s big news! And not just that — he let me borrow his cooler for a shoot that I had this past weekend.”

She also shared that he had invited her to the christening of Facinelli’s son Jack, and the two families also planned a boat trip together.

The dynamic between Garth and Facinelli wasn’t nearly so pleasant after their split. He joined her on her podcast for an episode and admitted, “I think that if we didn’t have kids, I wouldn’t have stayed.”

Despite years of struggles after their divorce, Garth and Facinelli have luckily come to a place now where he was more than willing to open the doors to his home when she needed a safe place to land.
