Sean "Diddy" Combs has a mountain of legal troubles that everyone in his life now has to scale. Combs, jailed inside Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, is set to stand trial in May 2025 as federal authorities have brought charges against him that include racketeering and sex trafficking -- and the trial is sure to be highly-publicized, even before it begins.
The wave of lawsuits and allegations that Combs has faced recently extended to Shawn Carter -- better known as the rapper Jay-Z. Combs and Carter have been sued over the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl at a party in 2000 -- a gathering and a sequence of events that may require Jennifer Lopez to speak out at last about her ex.
Resurfaced photo is problematic for JLo
Lopez, who was in a tumultuous two-year relationship with Combs at the height of his fame in the early 2000s, was seen at the party in which it is alleged that Diddy and Jay-Z sexually assaulted a teenager. A resurfaced photograph appears to show Lopez in the midst of a heated confrontation with Diddy at a nightclub following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, where the incident allegedly took place.
The unearthed photo, snapped Sept. 7, 2000, shows Lopez in heated discussion with Combs, who is holding a drink in his right hand and leaning on the wall behind Lopez with his left hand.
Lopez has been reluctant to speak out on the allegations that face her longtime ex; JLo has been busy finalizing her divorce from fourth husband Ben Affleck and promoting her new film, the Affleck-produced sports biopic "Unstoppable". However, as Lopez remains free of implication in any of Diddy's myriad lawsuits, she is free to do anything she wants as it relates to a public comment about Combs -- including, not saying anything at all.
