Jennifer Lopez is desperately hoping to lift her spirits in the wake of her divorce from Ben Affleck – so she’s taking a leaf out of fellow diva Mariah Carey’s book by rebounding with hot young men for some no-strings fun, a source exclusively tells In Touch.
“She’s already given the go-ahead for these hunks to be auditioned and served up for her,” the source says. “She was very respectful and totally loyal to Ben even after he walked out on her, but now all bets are off. She’s desperate to forget about Ben and get over the anguish he’s put her through and the best way she can do that is by having some no strings attached fun with hot young guys.”
J. Lo, 55, sat down with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine on Wednesday, October 9, telling the comedian her post-divorce life “feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate.”
“But when you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like, actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people,” the “Let’s Get Loud” singer shared.
After an entire summer of stressful will-they won’t-they relationship teetering, Jen filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Ben, 52, in August.
The couple, who had first called off their engagement in 2004, reconnected in May 2021 during a trip to the Argo star’s Big Sky Ranch in Montana. They were spotted kissing that same month in Miami and began hanging out publicly afterwards.
As their rekindled romance heated up, the Gone Girl star said “Jennifer was the one that got away,” leading Bennifer fans to hope once again for an engagement in their future, which came in April 2022.
They tied the knot in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony on July 16, 2022, having previously stated the media circus around their first try had been a major factor in the disintegration of their relationship.
This second-time’s-a-charm wasn’t to last, however, as In Touch was the first to report, they were “headed for a divorce” in May 2024.
The second split left J. Lo absolutely heartbroken, especially as reports began to surface of her ex husband getting close to his ex wife, Jennifer Garner, the mother of his three kids, as he sought solace in familiarity.
With plenty of suitors lining up to woo the 55-year-old bombshell, including Drake, the source says she’s decided to take some time off from serious dating and build back her confidence.
“Her ego needs a serious reboot and being with hot guys is great medicine because they will fawn all over her and make her feel young and sexy and desirable again,” the insider explains.
“She’s in amazing shape and looks fantastic, so it’s not hard for her to find plenty of hunks that want to get with her. They’ll all be vetted and will have to sign NDAs, but after that it’s game on.”
“She may not want anything serious for a while but she does want to have some fun, and who knows, maybe one of the hook-ups will turn into more. But her mission right now is just to feel sexy again and forget about Ben forever.”
