Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper blasted his colleague Jeremy Clarkson in a scathing four-word appraisal of his farming skills.

Kaleb confessed that the pair have a good relationship off-screen, with Jeremy helping to mentor the young farmer through his TV career after he was catapulted to fame on the Amazon Prime show.

But in other areas, Kaleb has to be the teacher. He confessed that while he wanted to be “nice”, Jeremy simply isn’t up to snuff when it comes to his agricultural career. And in a four-word blow, Kaleb said “he’s still a trainee”.

The star explained: “Part of me is saying he’s still a trainee. He’s getting there, though. We’re five years in the game now and if you haven’t picked up on certain things from five years in an industry, you’re probably in the wrong industry.”

Kaleb has also quipped that Jeremy tends to take farming advice from the publication Farmers Weekly.

But behind the scenes, Jeremy has been supporting his young apprentice as he takes further steps into the world of TV, and when he embarked on a one-man show The World According to Kaleb, Jeremy was waiting in the wings.

Kaleb confessed: “He gave me a great big hug and he went, ‘Well done, my boy, I’m so proud of you’. I’m sure he had a tear in his eye at one point.” Even when the pair argue, Kaleb said “there’s no holding a grudge”.

The banter between the pair is well documented, with Kaleb branding Jeremy an “idiot” for purchasing a Lamborghini tractor – despite owning the exact same model himself. In his new book It’s A Farming Thing, Kaleb told the truth about his famous quip on Clarkson’s Farm.

“I've got a tractor from every major brand in the fleet (I love saying that word: my fleet of tractors). I've even got an old Lamborghini, which I used when I was just starting out with my business, and which I don't tell anyone about because I slagged off Jeremy's Lamborghini."

He joked: "I mean what kind of idiot would buy a Lamborghini tractor just because the name sounds flash? Ahem. But at least I've got the excuse that I was only fifteen years old."
