Jeremy Clarkson's fans were in for a disappointment as he delivered a cutting slice of his trademark sarcasm, warning them of his not so generous 2024 Black Friday deal.
"Our jaw-dropping Black Friday deal is here! Order ANYTHING on Hawkstone.com and pay the FULL PRICE," he mischievously quipped. In the update, issued on his beer brand's Instagram page, he continued: "That’s right, you get absolutely f**k all off. 0% discount. Happy shopping."
Fans saw the funny side, as they praised his "positively brilliant marketing" and branded him "hilarious". Joining in with the humour, one quizzed: "Can I combine this offer with the 0€ voucher I have?"
The fan got a swift reply from Jeremy's pub The Farmer's Dog's social media account, who assured him: "Yes, twice!" It sounds as if Jeremy is unapologetically offering customers diddly squat, in line with the name of his Cotswolds farm. However, one reader reasoned: "Sounds like every other place. You wanna new TV? Don’t worry as we actually added 10% because it is near Christmas and we only say there is a discount so you can think you are actually getting a deal."
They added: "At least Jeremy knows how to do a good marketing campaign!" It even attracted fans from further afield, including Germany and Kansas City, who vowed they'd take up the "offer".
An accompanying video saw Jeremy perched on a "throne" of beer bottles, while announcing he'd done exactly the same 0 per cent offer the previous year.
A beaming Kaleb Cooper chimed in with a huge grin to tell fans that last year's offer had worked "so well" that they'd be doing it again.
"Not just today, but all year round, you could pay full price for your Hawkstone!" Jeremy declared.
Meanwhile, undeterred fans continued to add their comments as one of his cheeky promotional posts racked up almost 30,000 likes.
"As a German I have to say it’s the best beer I‘ve tasted so far. Must be the revenge for a BMW engine in a rolls royce #hawkstone," wrote one.
Another agreed: "We literally just came from Iceland to Diddly Squat and tried to buy some Hawkstone Beer for our friends back home and it was all out of stock :( We couldn't find it anywhere and now that we are home you are restocking :( Guess we have no choice than to come back!"
However, there was a twist: Jeremy then sensationally backtracked at what might have seemed like a stingy offer by offering something better than a discount - a pint absolutely free.
A post launched on Hawkstone's Instagram account this evening (November 28) reads: "We’re shouting a round at six brilliant pubs proudly pouring Hawkstone. Follow @hawkstone and the pub you’re visiting, tag a friend, and show this post to a staff member to claim your free pint. Offer available until the £500 tab runs out!"
Meanwhile, Jeremy has also made the headlines recently after he joinedthe farmers' protest in London over Labour's brutal new inheritance laws for those hoping to pass down farm land.
