Jessica Simpson causes fans to spiral with 'unrecognisable' new photos

Singer and actress Jessica Simpson had fans questioning if it was really her as she shared a new sultry photo with her followers ahead of her music comeback

Pop star Jessica Simpson has sent fans into a frenzy with her totally new look as many said they "don't even recognise her".

The singer and actress, 44, shared a series of new photos from a recording studio. Alongside the snap, she said: "I can't wait for y'all to hear the soundtrack of my soul." Jessica looked stunning in a black jacket over a silk top and skirt. She added a fishnet bodysuit and black cowboy boots with a huge platform.

The I Wanna Love You Forever hitmaker wore her long blonde locks pin straight with a side parting. She gave a smouldering look to the camera as she sat on a chair in the studio. Many fans mistook Jessica for other celebrities including Paris Hilton, Kim Zolciak and even Ivanka Trump.

Others shared their surprise at Jessica's new look as one said: "But, who is this, even? It doesn’t even look like Jessica Simpson." Another added: "Would have never know this is Jessica Simpson." Someone else commented: "This is a Jess Simpson body double." A fourth declared: "Woah. You don’t look like jessica."

However, other fans simply praised the star for returning to music. One said: "She seems healthy, happy, and free so maybe yall should just applaud her for living authentically and keep it moving." Another added: "All these ridiculous people worrying about what she looks like in this photo, missing the fact that she's making NEW MUSIC!!!"

Jessica's most recent music release was her 2010 record Happy Christmas. Last month, the pop star sparked concern form her marriage as her wedding ring was absent from her post. Captioning the photo, Jessica also appeared to hit out at someone close to her as she detailed her "comeback."

She wrote: "Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve." Her fans rushed to the comments section as they took note of what it may be her comment implied. One wrote: "Ohhh someone is NOT PLAYING anymore, girls!!! Take notes!!"

A second said: "I'm so sorry you went through what you did." Another asked: "Are you talking about your husband?" Jessica is married to former NFL player Eric Johnson and have faced rumours they are no longer living in their Hidden Hills, California mansion together. In October she was seen arriving at Los Angeles LAX airport without her wedding ring on.

Jessica and Eric have not been seen together since they attended their five-year-old daughter Birdie's graduation from kindergarten back in June. The couple also share daughter Maxwell, 12, and son Ace, 11. Rumours suggest that Jessica and Eric have been living separate lives for around a year. He was last seen on social media in April.
