Jessica Simpson Is Reportedly Leaning on This A-List Star for ‘Divorce Tips’ Amid Marriage Rumors

Jessica Simpson‘s marriage to Eric Johnson is reportedly on the rocks, but the couple hasn’t made any decisions about their next chapter. Still, the 44-year-old singer is possibly weighing her options by turning to an A-list acquaintance for advice.

“Jessica hasn’t made any decisions. She’s still researching her options and talking to her friends, especially the ones with kids that have been through a divorce,” a source told Life & Style. Who is one of her divorced pals? None other than Kim Kardashian. “Jessica has a lot of great women in her life that have circled around to be there and guide her, but Kim is very much front and center. She’s really stepped up to be there as someone to talk things through with,” the insider added.

Kim reportedly advised Simpson that “divorce was the right option” for her after ending her marriage to Kanye West. Still, it was “painful” to step away from her dream of having a traditional family structure. If Kardashian is really offering Simpson advice, this would be a huge turnaround from Life & Style‘s June report that the duo weren’t really friends despite their daughters’ strong bond.

“Jessica lives in the same neighborhood as Kim and at one point they were starting to get really friendly, but she was hoping it would go a lot further than it has,” the source told the media outlet. “She feels like she really hasn’t been let into the circle and it’s kind of frustrating for her since she’s tried so hard.” Perhaps their relationship has changed after People reported in November that Simpson and Johnson were living “separate lives” and not wearing their wedding rings.

“She’s working on music and splits her time between Los Angeles and Nashville. Eric spends all of his time in L.A., where the kids go to school. Jess and Eric very much live separate lives,” the insider told the magazine.

The only people who know the truth are Simpson and Johnson and they have both remained silent on the topic. They might not know what their next steps are, but the “Irresistible” singer might be looking for comfort from Kardashian. If anyone knows what a high-profile split looks like, it’s her — and it’s a hard burden to bear.
