Jesy Nelson admits shock over pregnancy with twins as she makes U-turn on motherhood

Jesy Nelson has given fans an insight into her pregnancy as she expects twins with her boyfriend, Zion Foster.

The former Little Mix star surprised everyone earlier this month by revealing that she and Zion were to become parents.

Jesy, 33, and fellow musician Zion, 26, also confirmed that they were expecting not one baby, but two, much to their own shock.

Now, in a Q&A, the Boyz hitmaker has opened up about pregnancy thus far, sharing everything from unexpected cravings to possible baby names.

She also admitted that her pregnancy was unplanned, having previously been vocal about not thinking she would have children.

When asked by one follower if she was ‘surprised’ upon discovering she would be giving birth to twins, the pop star responded: ‘Very very shocked’, followed by a wide-eyed emoji.

‘It wasn’t planned but I instantly felt happy as soon as I saw that I was’.

Speaking in an interview several years ago, Jesy declared that motherhood is ‘just not in [her]’ and that she ‘didn’t want’ a family.

In 2021, she told Glamour: ‘No, I don’t want children.

‘It’s just not in me. I think as a woman, [motherhood is] either in you or it isn’t.

‘You either have that maternal feeling or you don’t, and I’ve never had that feeling.’

She also stated: ‘I think women have to do what is right for them.’

However, the Black Magic songstress is now thrilled to be expecting two little ones of her own, telling her 9.7million followers that she feels ‘so grateful and so blessed’.

Elsewhere in her Q&A, she confessed to struggling with morning sickness and ‘constant vomiting’.

When asked if she has ideas for monikers for her twins, Jesy – who has Percy Pigs on her list of unusual cravings – teased: ‘I do have our babies names [sic] but keeping it a secret for now’.

On what traits she hopes her offspring will inherit from their parents, she also said sweetly: ‘All I hope for is that they are happy and healthy’.

Jesy left Little Mix in 2020, citing mental health struggles as the reason, having been open about the impact trolling, fame, and the pressure of being in a band had on her.

Her ex-bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall continued as a trio until their hiatus in 2022, with the three now all pursuing solo endeavours.

Jesy is set to become the third member of the hugely successful girl group to become a mum, as Leigh-Anne also has twins and Perrie has a son, all of whom were born just days apart.

The X Factor alum, who has been working on her debut solo album over recent years, was first linked to baby daddy-to-be Zion in January 2022.

While they broke up in November 2023, the pair reunited shortly afterwards, only to call time on their romance again last summer.

But it seems all is bliss now, as they prepare for endless night feeds and nappy changes together.
