According to Parade.com, Fallon kept the sunglasses on while stressing the positive that so many people turned out in the rain to Al Roker.

Photos on Getty Images show Fallon carrying an umbrella and wearing a transparent rain poncho while smiling and wearing the sunglasses during the downcast day.

Fallon was clad in a suit underneath the poncho.

However, photos published by People.com show Fallon also wore sunglasses during the 2022 and 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

People reported that Fallon has appeared in the iconic parade since 2009. He told people that he was recently diagnosed with “golfer’s elbow,” and he attributed it to waving in past parades.

“I think maybe the Queen [of England] has had this ailment,” he joked to People. “I’m one of the few people that have wavers elbow, but I’ve had it for a year and I still have it. It still hurts.”

He added in the interview: “You can’t stop me from waving. When you see me waving this year, just know that I’m giving 110%. You don’t even have to wave back. I don’t care. It’s my job — in fact, I’d rather you not, I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”
