Joan Vassos Criticizes Martha Stewart for Saying the Men on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’ “Aren’t Hot Enough”

Joan Vassos is clapping back at Martha Stewart for her comments regarding the men on ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette.

Earlier this week, the celebrity chef and businesswoman was asked on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen if she would be open to going on the dating reality series, to which she responded, “Absolutely not… the guys aren’t hot enough.”

Vassos later revealed to Access Hollywood that she actually DM’d Stewart in response to her criticism of the men featured on her season.

“I did, and I said, ‘Okay, dating is hard out there and I had a great group of guys,’” she said. “She doesn’t know them like I know. I got to know the inside of them as well as the outside. And, both are wonderful.”

The Golden Bachelorette continued, “The team did a great job of picking them because even before I knew them, like what they were about, and their stories and their backstory are also wonderful. I mean, they are there for a reason. When they got out of the limos that first night and they started walking toward me, every single one of them did something memorable and made me want to get to know them more. I guess Martha didn’t watch or didn’t see what I saw in them, and maybe you have to be in person, I don’t know, but they were special guys.”

The Golden Bachelorette, a spinoff of ABC’s long-running dating reality series The Bachelorette, debuted its first season on Sept. 18. Vassos previously appeared on Gerry Turner’s season of the Golden Bachelor, but she eliminated herself during week three over a medical concern with her daughter.
