Elon Musk weighed in on some thoughts Seán Ono Lennon had about the popularity of podcaster Joe Rogan.
Lennon, who is the son of The Beatles legend John Lennon and artist and singer Yoko Ono, shared his thoughts on Rogan and his politics in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
"People saying the left needs their own @joerogan don't understand that they can go on his show too. He's not of the right or the left. He's a guy with a long format show with interesting guests," Lennon wrote in the post that had almost 386,000 views at the time of publishing.
Musk, the owner of X, then chimed in, writing in reply to Lennon, "True."
Different people added their thoughts about Lennon's post in the replies.
"Joe Rogan is popular because he's a basically libertarian guy with an open, questing mind who just wants to talk to interesting people and learn what they're about. He's perceived as right-wing by far-leftists because their beliefs are so bizarre they've left the center behind," replied gun writer Duane Thomas.
"Actually, if the left wants their own Joe Rogan, they should acknowledge they had Joe Rogan. Like so many of us who were liberals, the party left us, we didn't leave them," wrote actor Daylon Studdard.
And author Jason R Townsend added, "He used to be more left. He leans right now but mainly in comparison to how far the left has gone. He does interview with people of any political affiliation."
Rogan endorsed President-elect Donald Trump against Vice President Kamala Harris the night before the November election.
Rogan, whose podcast The Joe Rogan Experience had just hosted Trump as a guest, credited Musk with helping to sway his decision.
"The great and powerful Elon Musk. If it wasn't for him we'd be f*****. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you'll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way. For the record, yes, that's an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast," Rogan wrote on X earlier this month.
The podcast host has given mixed political endorsements and preferences in recent years.
Rogan had said he did not vote for either Trump or President Joe Biden in the 2020 election, but he did endorse Senator Bernie Sanders' campaign during the 2020 Democratic primary.
Two years ago, he said Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was someone who would make a "good candidate" for president. In the 2016 presidential race, Rogan spoke highly of Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson.
