Jonathan Majors shared the film Magazine Dreams to an esteemed audience on Tuesday night (Feb. 4) at the 2025 Pan African Arts And Film Festival.  According to a press statement, the drama opened the 33rd iteration of the festival, taking place in Culver City, Calif.

“We are thrilled to open the 2025 Pan African Film Festival with a film that challenges, moves, and sparks critical conversation,” relayed PAFF Executive Director Oduduwa Olatunji in a statement. “Magazine Dreams is a bold and necessary work that speaks to the complexities of Black identity and ambition, making it a perfect launch for this year’s festival.”

Guests at the event included Kyla Pratt, Kelvin Harrison, and of course his fiancée, Megan Good.

Last month, it was revealed that the film would be released in theaters on March 21, 2025, after initially premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023 to critical acclaim. Majors stars in the film alongside Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Harrison Page, and Mike O’Hearn.  The film is described as exploring the lengths one man will go in his haunting quest for recognition in a world that often overlooks him.

The film was previously shelved after Majors was convicted of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment in December 2023 for a domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Magazine Dreams is directed and written by Malcolm Elijah Bynum. The film was produced by Jennifer Fox, Dan Gilroy, Simon Horsman, Jeffrey Soros, and Luke Rodgers with executive producers Lemuel Plummer, LJ Plummer, and Jason Tolbert. The distributor is Briarcliff Entertainment, with Zeus Network as Briarcliff’s marketing partner.
