Nearly two years after teasing viewers with the release of the body-building film Magazine Dreams, the Jonathan Majors-starring film has finally received a release date and media home.
Written and directed by Elijah Bynum, the film has now been picked up by Briarcliff Entertainment, after being dropped by Spotlight Pictures in January.
The film was shopped around after Majors hit major legal roadblocks regarding accusations of domestic abuse. Following his conviction, Majors was also dropped by Marvel as character, Kang the Conqueror, and also from his role as Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate’s 48 Hours in Vegas.
The Hollywood star hadn’t booked any other major films since then, with exception of the indie film Merciless.
Magazine Dreams stars Major as Killian Maddox—an amateur bodybuilder obsessed with achieving greatness. The film also includes Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O’Hearn, Harrison Page, and Harriet Sansom Harris and will hit theaters on March 21, 2025.
In addition, Briarcliff Entertainment has partnered with Zeus Network to spearhead marketing efforts for the film. It is produced by Jennifer Fox, Dan Gilroy, Jeffrey Soros, and Simon Horsman, with Jonathan Majors serving as an executive producer through his Tall Street Productions.
Other executive producers include Luke Rodgers, Andrew Blau (Los Angeles Media Fund), Lemuel Plummer, Jason Tolbert, and ZEUS CEO Lemuel Plummer.
