Joshua Jackson's home has been obliterated in the Los Angeles wildfires, it has been reported.
The 'Dawson's Creek' star purchased his childhood home back in 2001, but the property, located in the Topanga Canyon neighbourhood, was consumed by flames, leaving only the swimming pool intact, according to TMZ. The surrounding hillside has also been completely scorched in the fire, with Joshua being one of thousands who have lost their homes in the blazes.
He said in a statement: “First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are ok. My daughter, my family, my neighbors all made it out safely. Sadly my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.”
Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Billy Crystal, and Mel Gibson are also among those who have lost their properties. The 46-year-old actor - who shares a four-year-old daughter Juno with estranged wife Jodie Turner-Smith - was born in Vancouver but lived in Topanga until he was eight, when he moved back to Canada following his parents' divorce.

He previously told Mr. Porter magazine: "My father unfortunately was not a good father or a husband and exited the scene, but that house in Topanga was where everything felt simple, so it was a very healing thing for me to do.
"There was a mural of a dragon on the wall in [my old] room that I couldn’t believe was still there, years later. The owner [who sold him the house] said, ‘I knew it meant a lot to somebody and that they were going to come back for it some day.'"
Joshua also revealed that fatherhood has completely transformed his life. He said: "It’s 100 per cent changed how I approach my work and my life. That has been made so clear to me in this past year." He added: "For me to feel good about what I’m doing day to day, my family has to be the central focus."
Mass evacuations have seen thousands of people forced to leave their homes behind in recent days, and over a 1000 buildings and structures have been totally destroyed – with a number of people reported to have tragically lost their lives already, in fires Paris Hilton said looked like "hell" on earth. Jhene Aiko, Anthony Hopkins and Anna Farris also lost their homes.
