The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday said it plans on releasing a portion of special counsel Jack Smith's report on President-elect Donald Trump's cases.
In court documents filed to a federal appeals court, the DOJ said it has decided to not release the volume of Smith's report that covers the classified documents case while the criminal proceedings involving Trump's co-defendants are pending.
However, the DOJ plans on submitting the portion of Smith's report to Congress that deals with Trump's alleged efforts to undo the results of the 2020 presidential election.
