Justin Timberlake has had to postpone several dates on his world tour due to health issues, with bronchitis and laryngitis forcing the US singer and actor to reschedule.

Taking to Instagram, he expressed regret to his fans, stating: "Hey guys – I haven’t been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis. I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2. New dates listed above.

"Thank you for understanding – I’ll make it up to you – JT."

This setback follows a recent postponement of a concert date from his Forget Tomorrow tour due to an unspecified injury.

The NHS describes bronchitis as inflammation of the airways in the lungs typically caused by an infection, while laryngitis involves irritation or swelling of the voice box or vocal cords. Timberlake was set to perform in Columbus, Ohio, followed by shows in Detroit, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois, with additional gigs in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and St Paul, Minnesota now needing new dates.

This news comes after Timberlake's guilty plea to impaired driving a month ago, which closed a criminal case from a June arrest in New York state’s Hamptons on a drink-driving charge.

The singer and actor was slapped with a 500-dollar (£380) fine, an additional surcharge of 260 dollars (£198), ordered to complete 25 hours of community service at a non-profit organisation of his choice, and mandated to make a public safety announcement.
