With traditional methods, cleaning windows to a sheen is a fine art. A squeegee, an anti-streak spray and a committed attitude are all essentials, but the results can often leave a lot to be desired. That’s especially the case for shower screens, with soapy residue putting up more of a fight than it has any right to.

However, sparkling windows and screens can be easily-won with the right gear, such as the Kärcher Window Vac WV 2. Currently marked down to £46.74 from £54.99 on Amazon, this handy window vacuum cleaner makes quick work of windows and other hard surfaces with a drip-free, streak-free design. The Window Vac WV 2 can be bundled with a bottle of window cleaning fluid for a total of £52.72, or you might opt for the vacuum extension bundle at £83.73 if you’ve got some hard-to-reach areas that need tackling.

This lightweight, compact window cleaner weighs 600g, making it easy on most wrists. It’s also got a very quiet running sound, so you won’t be deafened by a motor reverberating around the inside of your shower while you clean your screen down.

Karcher has designed the WV 2 with a 280mm-wide nozzle that’s particularly useful over large surfaces. Not limited to use on glass, you can also make quick work of cleaning your kitchen sides down with it. Its water tank is easy to remove and empty without splashing yourself with dirty water, and the rechargeable battery will run for 35 minutes on a full charge.

Amazon customers have been very satisfied with it, awarding a 4.5/5 average score across 110 reviews. “Absolutely brilliant,” said one happy user. “Wish I had got one years ago. Gets your windows done in no time. Sparkling.”

“I have used this for so many things,” said another customer who was particularly impressed with its versatility. “Windows, shower screen, kitchen cupboards, mirrors etc. Dry in seconds and needs no buffing.”

Another five-star review added: “I bought this to clear condensation from my campervan windows along with a narrower suction blade. I think that the narrower blade is a must for smaller windows. The battery lasts ages and it does a really good job.”

Some customers have had some minor gripes with it, however. “Really good but the rubber gets dirty really quick which results in leaving streaks,” said one customer. Others have noted that the buttons can be a bit tricky to operate: “The on/off button is not easy to push and does not always respond the first time,” said another three-star review.
