Kate Beckinsale says she was 'forced to do photoshoot' during miscarriage

Kate Beckinsale claims she was "forced" to carry on a photoshoot while bleeding during a miscarriage.

The actress, 51, has taken to social media to share her story following the lawsuit Blake Lively filed against her co-star Justin Baldoni. Blake, 37, worked with Justin, 40, on the movie adaption of Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel. The movie divided critics and was plagued by reports of backstage drama. Following months of rumours about a fallout between the leading stars, Blake has now accused her co-star and director of a co-ordinated effort to destroy her reputation, in legal papers seen by the Mirror.

But sharing her own experience in view of her 5.6 million followers on Instagram, Kate claimed a person she once employed told her that if she didn't turn up to a photoshoot, she would "be sued." The actress previously opened up in 2020 about suffering a miscarriage, several years ago. At the time, Kate said she had managed to "keep her pregnancy quiet" but felt "grief, shame and shock" following the tragic loss.

Speaking about her experience, Kate told fans: "I've been forced by a publicist that I was employing, to do a photoshoot the day after I'd had a miscarriage. I said 'I can't, I'm bleeding, I don't want to go and change my clothes in front of people I don't know. I don't want to go and do a photoshoot, I'm bleeding out a miscarriage'."

Kate went on to say that her publicist, who she did not name commented: "You have to or you'll be sued." In 2020, Kate threw her support behind Chrissy Teigen who opened up about the loss of her own baby. Taking to Instagram, she said: "Years ago, I lost a baby at 20 weeks. I had managed to keep my pregnancy quiet and I absolutely collapsed inside and no one would have known.

"There is grief, shame and shock so often that come with an experience like this, plus the heartbreak of your body continuing, after the loss, to act as if it had a child to nurture. Your milk comes in, with no one to feed. It can be the loneliest, most soul destroying period of time, particularly if you are not in the position of having an emotionally connected, supportive partner like Chrissy has."

The actress also claimed that when she raised concerns about a co-stars wellbeing after they turned up to set "drunk," she was labelled a "c**t." Although she claimed she was "fortunate enough not to be shown a body part" by Harvey Weinstein, she found herself unemployed after turning down a role in a movie by him.

Kate claimed that the disgraced director would tell "every director and magazine editor" not to "use her". But the Pearl Harbour actress also praised Blake Lively for opening up about her own experiences in the industry. She went on to say: "I'm grateful to Blake Lively for highlighting that this is not an archaic problem that no one's facing — this is continuing.

"And then when it does happen, a machine goes into place to absolutely destroy you. And I'm sure that's the case in other industries as well, and it's just got to stop."
