Kate Beckinsale left fans worried after posting a series of photos showing off some gruesome injuries she received on the set of her latest film, Canary Black.

But despite the bumps and bruises, fans were still full of praise for Kate, 51, adding that she was "still beautiful".

Canary Black was released this week and stars Kate as a CIA agent on the run, alongside Ray Stevenson and Rupert Friend. But during the production of the new thriller, the Van Helsing and Underworld star picked up a few nasty-looking injuries.

In photos posted to her 5.6million Instagram followers on Saturday, Kate showed off a number of bruises and cuts. In one photo on her story, she even posed in what appeared to be a back brace.

She captioned the post: “Kicking impeccably chic ass. And a couple of close ups doesn’t half hurt lol.” Alongside the injury photos, Kate also posted a review of Canary Black and some behind-the-scenes shots of her filming her stunts for the film.

Fans were quick to offer their support as they worried about the gnarly injuries. One wrote: "Look at all the bruises, ouch. You def put your body on the line for this movie. But if it helps. It was bloody good action movie. You did yourself proud. Love seeing you kick arse."

A second added: "Jesus girl, they really tossed you all over like a sack of potatoes. Get well soon, darling."

And Kate's stunt double Laura Vortlet even waded in, full of praise for the Hollywood star. Laura said: "As Kate’s Stunt Double on this job, I can attest she did a huge bit more than medium and close-up shots on that one! I was seriously impressed with Kate’s physical ability, endurance and performance, and most of all her attitude! She’s a total Badass and never complained and showed all the men out there who’s boss."

And despite her injuries, there were still plenty of fans all too eager to shower Kate with compliments, as one said: "Still beautiful as ever."

Earlier this year, Kate hit back at trolls making cruel comments about her body, revealing that the death of her stepfather, Roy Battersby, earlier in the year had caused her to lose weight.
