Being the daughter of a celebrity means the world is watching you — but for Kate Hudson's 5-year-old daughter, Rani, that's just a regular day.

When the How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days actress, 45, posted an Instagram story on Thursday, January 23, she kept a serious tone as she updated her followers on the status of their home in the Pacific Palisades during the Los Angeles wildfires. "I went back into the Palisades," she explained, adding that it was "a very intense day, we're very lucky our house was still standing."

Little Rani, however, had clearly heard all this news before, so she wasn't paying much attention as she cuddled up to her mom. She let out a huge yawn as Kate explained how their community was impacted by the fires. Kate was unfazed by the loud yawn, continuing to talk as she affectionately stroked her daughter's arm.

Rani began to pay more attention to the camera, sticking out her tongue as her mom explained that they were "trying to support [their] community as much as [they] can," and thanked her followers for "being so kind" during this time when so many people have lost their homes.

Despite her status as a celebrity kid, Rani looked just like any other 5-year-old who was in her own world while adults were talking. As her mom promised to keep followers updated on their progress and their efforts to "rebuild" Los Angeles, Rani began puffing out her cheeks, making fish faces, and smiling at the camera. She sweetly put her head down on her mom's shoulder when Kate mentioned that "Daddy," presumably Rani's dad Danny Fujikawa, "stayed behind to help put out spot fires."

Kate has been engaged to Fujikawa, a musician who she met through his stepsisters Erin, Jordan, and Sara Foster, since 2021. She has two other children — Ryder, 21, who she shares with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and Bingham, 14, with her former fiancé Matt Bellamy.
