Last week Prince William praised Kate Middleton last week in a rare personal statement as she celebrated her 43rd birthday. Along with the gushing post in which he described the mum of three as the "most incredible wife and mother" William shared an unseen snap of Kate.
Highlighting the Princess of Wales' "strength" after a brutal year following her cancer diagnosis, a stunning black and white picture was also shared.
The princess looked relaxed sporting skinny jeans, white shirt, black blazer and a gingham scarf and was smiling with her with her hands in her jeans pockets in the picture, taken by Matt Porteous in Windsor last summer.
Royal watchers were delighted with the public show of affection by the future king for his wife.
He said: "To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W."
But some style savvy fans were more interested in another feature....Kate's hair.
Kate is known for her dedication to fashion and her healthy, glowing locks. Following her engagement announcement to William in 2010, fashion fans became hooked on the royal’s every sartorial move - and her 'Chelsea blow dry' did for hairstyles at the time what Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Rachel’ do did in the 90s. And now it seems the royal is about to lead another hairstyle revolution.
Kate could be seen sporting longer hair in the snap shared by William and a marked change in her curls, as could also be seen when she undertook a surprise solo engagement to the hospital where she was treated last year earlier today on Tuesday.
Hairstylist Tom Pike confirmed the change to one of the most famous barnets on the planet, as he told Hello! the princess has debuted a new look based on the 'Hollywood wave' - and he's explained how fans can recreate the look at home.
Tom said: "Essentially, Kate has upgraded the style known as the 'Hollywood wave'. To achieve this, you would use either a smoothing cream or a nice blow dry spray. Blow dry your hair smooth, then using a large barrel wand, twist the hair round the tool, taking slightly thicker sections as you work. Once this is done, gently brush it out."
Kate has endured a challenging past 12 months which saw her undergo abdominal surgery, be diagnosed with cancer and face chemotherapy treatment.
This week marks a year since the princess was admitted to hospital for an operation on January 16, just seven days after her 42nd birthday.
She spent nearly two weeks in the London Clinic after the major surgery, and was recuperating at home when she was told she had cancer and had to begin chemotherapy.

Kate returned to the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, west London, on Tuesday morning, with the aim of thanking the staff who cared for her, personally.
She expressed her gratitude to her medical teams and showed support to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
It had not been previously disclosed that Kate was treated at the Marsden – a world-leading state-of-the art cancer centre known for its pioneering research.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “The princess wanted to make the journey to both show her gratitude to the incredible team, but also highlight the world-leading care and treatment the Marsden provides.”
