Princess Kate Middleton wowed royal fans as she returned to duties for her most significant official royal event of 2024.
Kate, 42, joined husband Prince William and his father, King Charles III, as they welcomed the Amir of Qatar and his wife during their state visit to the U.K. on Tuesday, December 3.
The Princess of Wales looked stunning in a burgundy Alexander McQueen fitted coat, matching hat, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s pearl drop earrings and a diamond and pearl choker, which she’s worn to other significant royal events.
Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March after undergoing major abdominal surgery in January. She revealed in September that she had completed chemotherapy and has slowly been returning to work.

Such a Smile
The princess beamed while wearing the late Queen Elizabeth II’s four-strand pearl choker, which the monarch had loaned to Kate when she married into the royal family. In addition to wearing it to greet the Amir of Qatar and his wife, Kate wore the stunning piece to both Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth’s funerals, as well as to King Charles III’s coronation.
