Katie Holmes goes '90s grunge in casual yet stylish look: Her winter fashion formula

Katie Holmes is always having fun with her style. The Hollywood star, who continues to work on her Broadway production 'Our Town,' has stepped out in different outfits during fall and winter. Most recently, the actress and filmmaker proved that she looks good in everything, including the 90s' grunge look. 

Katie is known for keeping a casual yet stylish vibe while running errands around New York City. The actress has previously talked about her preference for vintage pieces and sustainable fashion.

Most recently, Katie stepped out in a cozy and layered ensemble, which consisted of a white top, a taupe sweater, and a plaid flannel. She paired the look with baggy jeans and white sneakers.

The star completed the look with a gray beanie, dark sunglasses, and a green tote bag. She rocked a soft glam makeup look, including a cherry red lip, and smiled for the paparazzi who photographed her while walking around the city after a coffee run.

Katie recently talked about her approach when it comes to winter fashion. "In the winter months [my outfit formula] is usually based on more, and the double layer," she told InStyle in December. "So for now, it's a lot of pants that I can put yoga pants underneath and cozy sweaters and just try to have some sort of balance to it," she said to the publication. 

Katie credits her stylist for some of her outfit ideas. "My stylist Brie Welch is really good, so I really give her all of the props," she added. "I follow what she wears and I'm inspired by her."

"I enjoy [fashion]. I mean, I enjoy the craftsmanship. I enjoy putting things together. And I work with [stylist] Brie Welch, and she's very detail-oriented, which inspires me. I think it is very creative. I love vintage shopping. I love the art of design," she told Glamour about her love for fashion.
