Kayleigh Trappe is a rising star in Irish comedy thanks to her hilarious sketches impersonating stars such as Vogue Williams, Louis Walsh, Patrick Kielty, Saoirse Monica Jackson and more. Here, the country’s new favourite funny gal tells RSVP about the things in her life that make her smile, from her ideal way to spend the weekend to her favourite celebrity run-in, plus her dream dinner guest.
Takeaway
I’ve never ever had a spicebag because I’m only a newbie to Dublin. In Monaghan we’re blessed with so many Indian takeaways but I’m willing to replace that with a spicebag once I try it!
Song
I love a Rainy Night in Soho, the Dan McCabe version. I also love Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap and Heartbeats by Jose Gonzales.

Ideal weekend
I love hiking, it gives me the best peace of mind especially because I spend a lot of time on social media. Now that I live in Dublin, I’m not far from the Dublin and Wicklow mountains. I try to go on a hike every weekend, or because I work in social media I might have a day off during the week and it can be nice to go then as well. I recently walked Bray Head and got a coffee and it was such a gorgeous day.
Childhood memory
Me and my family used to always go on camping holidays in France. My parents would call me ‘the wanderer’ because I was always getting lost! Sometimes I’d hop out of the back of the pram and run away on my mam because I was wired to the moon. That makes sense, because I’m still just as wired these days.
Nickname
Our family nickname is Trappy. Growing up, I was always ‘Trappy’s wee sister’ because my older brother was Trappy. Last year, I remember someone called him ‘Trappy’s big brother’. Yes, I have finally overtaken the name!
Style icon
I love wearing jumpsuits, they are my identity at this point, so I think Sophie Murray has beautiful style and I love anything Doireann Garrihy wears.
Celebrity encounter
Charlotte Tilbury. I went on a press trip to meet her. I’ve impersonated her before but I didn’t know if it was her or her team watching my videos. So when I went up to meet her I put on the red wig and went full steam ahead. She turned around to me and said, “It’s you darling, I love your videos!” She was well up for the craic. I loved her.
Dream dinner guest
Roy Keane. One day I’ll get to meet that man. I’d be so scared of him, but I’d try to play it cool. I do a lot of skits impersonating Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch so I would love to meet them as well.
I’m at my happiest when…
I spend a lot of my free time with my niece. Sitting with her over our favourite frozen yoghurt that we get in Monaghan town makes me so content. Kids are amazing, and she brings me back to the real world. She’s everything to me.
