Keir Starmer Responds to Elon Musk Over Grooming Scandal

Keir Starmer, responding to a question from GB News about child grooming gangs, addressed why the government has not launched a new public inquiry into the issue on the back of posts on X by Elon Musk criticizing his handling of the Rotherham child sex grooming gangs scandal.

Starmer pointed to his tenure as director of public prosecutions, emphasizing that his record is transparent and publicly accessible. "I changed the system because I could see some of the things that were going wrong," he stated, highlighting his efforts to reform prosecutorial processes during his time in office.

"The victims here suffered terrible abuse," he said, "and then they weren't listened to".

He added "there have been a lot of reviews...including localised reviews" into child grooming gangs.

The prime minister agreed that "no stone should be left unturned" but said "action" is now required.
