Kelly Brook has spoken out on the reason for why she has no children.

Former Daily Star model and presenter Kelly, 44, has opened up about why she is not planning on starting a family with darling husband Jeremy Parisi. When asked why she hasn't been trying for kids with Jeremy, she explained she had suffered several miscarriages.

Throughout her previous relationships, Kelly had tried several times to get pregnant. In particular, she was desperate to have a child whilst she was with rugby legend Thomas Evans whilst they were together.

But in both 2011 and 2012, Kelly suffered a series of traumatic miscarriages that left her emotionally devastated. As a result, she swore off any notion of having children as she admitted she would not be able to bear losing another baby.

Speaking with The Sun magazine, Kelly declared herself "childless by choice", adding that the idea of starting a family was not something that was on their radar. She added that not having children should not be considered a "taboo", and should be addressed publicly to highlight other people's stories.

"I think it is a really brave thing to say as a woman," she confessed. "Sometimes I look back and wonder if it was ever what I really wanted?

"Maybe I was going along with it because it's expected," she added. "Because that's what everyone does."

Asked about her history with pregnancy, she admitted the experience was so traumatising that she would not want to go through it again. "I have been down that road with previous partners and it is a lot; I look at the beautiful life we have and how we don't have the burden of that," former Celebrity Juice star Kelly said.

However, Kelly has said she would be open to finding other ways to start a family - including adoption. This came despite the fact they are not interesting in having children now as it does not fit with their lifestyle, preferring instead to do their own thing.

If Kelly ever became a mother, she explained that she would have a completely different experience in raising a child compared to how her own month had looked after her. Giving birth to Kelly at just 16, the model said her mum was "fantastic", but confessed the relationship had been skewed slightly due to her mum's young age.

The pair have since developed a loving relationship as Kelly has grown up, but Kelly explained she "never really had a motherly example" to follow as a child as a result. However, explaining herself further, she admitted the concept of being a young mother is so removed from her now, she can barely imagine it: "It's hard for me to imagine it now because I am 44, I am not 17."
