Kelly Clarkson's kids do not want their mom venturing into the dating world.
Clarkson, 42, who shares daughter River, 10, and son Remington, 8, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, told KOST 103.5 in a Friday, November 15, interview that her little ones beg her not to date.
"I've explained to her [River] when mommy's ready, it's ok, I'm allowed to do that...My kids both of them they constantly bring it up, 'Please, we don't want you with anybody else," the talk show host admitted. "They're young, it's hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad."
The Grammy winner tied the knot with Blackstock, 47, in 2013. The pair finalized their divorce in 2022 after battling over alimony, child support, and custody of their kids.
Despite her kiddo's wishes, the mom of two told them she does need romance in her life. "I have expressed like, 'Hey, I love you guys but Mommy needs lovings too,'" Clarkson laughed.
The former Voice coach shared that she is content not being in a serious relationship. "I'm a magnet for people who are really all-in right off the bat and wanna be exclusive. It's not that I'm the type to go and kiss a bunch of people, I just don't—I'm very noncommittal at the moment," she remarked. However, just because the "Stronger" singer is "not looking" for love right now doesn't mean she's not open to it, saying, "The hope of that [love] is really beautiful and wonderful and magical."
The American Idol alum reflected on her tight-knit relationship with her children, saying, "I'm seeing my kids grow real fast, and it's going by real fast. I'm happy for them because I enjoy all the stages." The TV personality noted she truly enjoys spending time with them. "I love hanging with my little ones," she stated. "They're so funny, and they're so cool, and they're only going to want me around for so long because they're my kids, and I know they're going to be like me and be like, 'Bye!' Which I'm cool with, but I want to enjoy it for as long as I can."
