Kendrick Lamar's 'GNX' Studio Process Gets Spoofed in Hilarious RDC World Skit

Kendrick Lamar's album GNX received plenty of viral reactions upon its release, and Texas content creators RDC World have joined the party.

In a spoof of the creation process, RDC World members Mark Phillips and Leland Manigo reenacted Lamar and DJ Mustard recording in the studio during a hate-fueled session.

"This n***a K.Dot is fucking trippin', bro," Manigo, portraying Mustard says in the TikTok below. "We've been at this shit every day for the past week and he won't let me go home."

Phillips, playing Lamar, yells "Mustard!" from the "booth" (which is actually the kitchen) before reciting bars from "tv off."

"N***as actin' bad, but somebody gotta do it / Got my foot up on the gas, but somebody gotta do it," he recites.

"Nah, they playin' with you Kendrick," Phillips continues. "That's not—that's not good enough, you gotta make sure you say that with enough hatred."

"Who playing with me?" he asks while talking to himself. "Twitter playin' with you, Kendrick. You know Twitter playing with you!"

Phillips, still imitating Lamar, urges himself to "hit that with more anger" and "hatred" while Manigo looks on.

"They gotta feel the hate, they gotta feel the hate," Phillips says. "Mustard!!!"

"This n***a just had a full-blown conversation with himself," Manigo tells someone off-camera in the makeshift studio. "Bro, he moving in the right spots and everything. You telling me this n***a not crazy?"

Manigo then claims that he's been in the studio for "three weeks" and that Lamar's "crazy" before Phillips appears behind him.

"I need you to playback. Playback!" Phillips urges.

Phillips tensely dances while "tv off" plays, before asking "That shit fire, right?"

"All right, drop the album," he continues to Manigo's shock.

"It's—it's—it's 9 a.m., Kendrick!" Manigo says.

After some back and forth, it's ultimately decided that GNX is ready for release, which is what happened on Friday when the Compton native's sixth album arrived without notice.

Along with "tv off," Mustard co-produced "hey now" with Sounwave and Jack Antonoff. In May, K.Dot and Mustard dropped their first collaboration, the chart-topping "Not Like Us," which was performed five times during "The Pop Out" on Juneteenth.
