Khloé Kardashian had to miss her family's annual Christmas Eve party for a "scary" reason.

The 40-year-old mom-of-two took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, December 26 to share that both of her children with ex Tristan Thompson had the misfortune of getting sick just before the holidays.

"I hope everyone had a great, great Christmas..." Khloé began in the video, in which she appeared to be walking on the treadmill. "I didn't get to make it to the Christmas Eve party, which was a bummer. But it wasn't really a party this year, it was just us hanging out at Kendall's house — but still I missed being with my family."

"Tatum was super sick the weekend before, but now he's perfect and great. He was great for Christmas Eve and all that," the Good American co-founder said of her 2-year-old son. "True has had a 105 fever. It was really scary. It was horrible. But now she's just starting to feel better yesterday."

Despite the high fever, the youngest Kardashian sister was still able to spend some time at her mother Kris Jenner's house, explaining that "poor thing" True, 6, was asleep in another room as she was making breakfast. She also revealed that her family was opening presents from Santa the day after Christmas, as True was too sick to be able to on Christmas Day.

"And that's when you know your kid is sick, when Santa toys don't even excite them, poor, poor thing. But I'm so happy she's feeling better, and yeah, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I wasn't really able to do so yesterday," Khloé continued.

Before closing out her videos and showing off a few Christmas gifts in her Stories, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum celebrated what she dubbed "the slow time of the year," between Christmas and New Year's — "where you can stay in your pajamas and it doesn't matter."

Khloé had initially mentioned that her babies were sick in a note shared to her Instagram Stories a few days earlier. "Tatum was sick the entire weekend and Now my TuTu is sick. For the first time in a long long time we will miss Christmas Eve 🥹. I feel so terrible for my sick littles. No fun but I pray we are fine for Santa tomorrow!!! ❤️🎄💚," she wrote.

Another story revealed that rather than joining the rest of the Kardashian clan, Khloé's family spent Christmas Eve watching the classic claymation film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
