Khloe Kardashian slams LA mayor over wildfire disaster after evacuating her home: ‘You are a joke’

Khloe Kardashian is one of many Los Angeles residents upset with the city’s mayor, Karen Bass, as the deadly wildfires continue to rage across the region.

The “Kardashians” star made that pretty clear when she took to Instagram on Friday evening and called Bass a “joke.”

The 40-year-old reality TV star bashed Bass after Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley spoke to Fox 11 and said the mayor failed the city by allegedly calling for major budget cuts months before the fires broke out.

Crowley claimed she begged for more money over a month ago because there were firetrucks that needed immediate repairs and hydrants that needed fixing, but no one helped.

After watching the interview, Kardashian shared a grab from the clip to her Instagram Story, saying, “I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!”

“Thank you for being honest,” she added, before concluding with: “Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!”

And Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity who has bashed the mayor over the wildfire response.

Mel Gibson and James Woods have also called out the leader amid the deadly blazes that have destroyed large portions of Pacific Palisades, Malibu and Altadena since they started Tuesday.

On Thursday, Kardashian and her family members — Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner — fled their homes after receiving an evacuation order as the Kenneth Fire began burning across 1,000 acres northeast of Calabasas, Calif.

While the order has since been lifted, it’s unclear if they returned to their homes.

In the meantime, the Kardashians have been giving back to their community by donating meals from the famous Carousel Restaurant to “several fire stations” across Los Angeles.

“My family and I wanted to feed a few fire houses today and we couldn’t think of a better restaurant to reach out to other than @carouselrestaurant,” Khloé wrote on her Instagram Story Thursday.

“Our favorite Armenian restaurant! They whipped up hundreds of individual meals for so many firefighters, volunteers, first responders, and we could not be more thankful! Thank you for putting your lives on the line for all of us!”

At this time, the Kardashian family’s houses — including Kim’s new $70 million vacation home in Malibu, Calif. — have survived the fires, but not everyone’s been so lucky.

Kim’s close friend Paris Hilton lost her Malibu house earlier in the week.
